The Purpose of LDS Sword is to create a documentary that details the specific needs of single Latter-day Saints over the age of 30, dividing those singles into unmarried, widowed and divorced.

As LDS singles share their experiences and perceptions, the producers of the documentary hope to open a meaningful dialogue about the specific challenges singles face. In so doing, the film hopes to allow those non-singles—who are in a position to do so—better equipped to recommend solutions and develop policy that will reinvigorate this cross section of LDS culture.

The documentary also seeks to explore the current goodness, creativity and contribution that many singles make and seeks to glean wisdom from these singles to provide solutions to some of their problems.

Moreover, we will explore some of the perceptions that non-single LDSs have toward their single counterparts and how these and their own perceptions can help shape singles' attitudes toward themselves.
